Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has been sidelined for approximately six weeks with a hamstring injury, compounding the club’s striker woes as Marc Guiu is also out with a serious groin injury.
Chelsea's attacking options have taken a significant blow as forward Nicolas Jackson, who has scored nine goals this season, has been ruled out for around six weeks following a hamstring injury sustained in the match against West Ham. Although manager Enzo Maresca was initially optimistic about Jackson’s condition, further scans revealed the injury to be more severe than first thought, with sources indicating a return only after the international break at the end of March. This setback leaves Chelsea without a recognised number nine, especially after Spaniard Marc Guiu, who replaced Jackson during the West Ham clash, also picked up a serious groin injury and is expected to be out for weeks or months.
In response, Maresca is likely to rely on Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku to fill the void in attack. Nkunku, who was given a starting role in the FA Cup fourth-round defeat to Brighton, will be crucial in leading the line until Jackson returns. With Chelsea currently sitting fourth in the Premier League, the club faces mounting pressure to maintain their position as they prepare to face Brighton in a league fixture later this week.
