Noni Madueke’s dazzling run set up an Axel Tuanzebe own goal just after the break, and substitute Jadon Sancho equalised with 11 minutes remaining.
While the comeback showed resilience, the result was disappointing against a side likely heading back to the Championship. Madueke impressed once again, further strengthening his case as Chelsea’s top wide option. Maresca admitted the team lacked conviction in the first half but praised the tactical shift and response in the second.
