After our victory over West Ham, Graham Potter returned to his former stomping ground and, during his pre-press conference media session, was overheard muttering a six-word dig aimed at his past tenure at Chelsea. Potter, who spent seven challenging months with us before his departure in April 2023, expressed his displeasure with the match’s proceedings, specifically questioning the decision on the lead-up to the first goal. He claimed that a foul on West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen should have been flagged, although officials ruled there was insufficient evidence of contact. The game saw West Ham take an early lead, only for Pedro Neto to equalise in the 64th minute, with an own goal by Aaron Wan-Bissaka ultimately securing the win for us. Potter, who now has a record of one win, one draw, and two losses in his first four games in charge of West Ham, noted that his players were unfortunate not to extract more from the match, despite recognising the role of luck. Meanwhile, West Ham currently sit 15th in the Premier League and remain 10 points above the drop zone. With no permanent signings made during their winter window—apart from loan moves such as Evan Ferguson’s arrival from Brighton and the recall of James Ward-Prowse—the focus for West Ham is now on improving their performances as we continue our strong run at Stamford Bridge.
