Chelsea are reportedly preparing a £99m bid to sign 19-year-old Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen and Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, with both players reportedly open to a transfer in the summer window.
According to sources cited by Fraser Fletcher, Chelsea are keen on bolstering their squad by targeting two of the best young players in Europe. The club is in advanced talks to secure Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth—a rising star who joined the Cherries from Juventus in the summer of 2024 and has made 21 Premier League appearances, scoring twice. Huijsen’s release clause, which is set at £50m and becomes active in the summer, makes him an attractive prospect despite competition from other Premier League clubs such as Tottenham and Manchester United.
In addition, Chelsea are eyeing Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, whose £49m release clause presents a huge opportunity to land one of the world’s best wingers at a relatively low cost. Williams, a 22-year-old Spain international, is eager to step up to a major club and is attracting interest not only from Chelsea but also from Tottenham and Arsenal. This dual targeting forms a potential £99m deal that could significantly strengthen Chelsea’s defence and attacking options, reflecting the club’s broader ambitions in the summer transfer window.
