Chelsea supporters have called on the Premier League to investigate chairman Todd Boehly’s ties to a ticket resale platform accused of undermining anti-touting efforts by listing match tickets at massively inflated prices.
The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) has urged the Premier League to take formal action against club chairman Todd Boehly, following revelations about his role as a director and investor in Vivid Seats — a US-based ticket resale website. Vivid Seats is blacklisted by the Premier League as “unauthorised,” and is known for listing football match tickets at excessive mark-ups, including some for nearly £20,000.
The CST’s open letter to Premier League CEO Richard Masters condemns Boehly’s association with the company as “totally inappropriate” and damaging to the efforts of Chelsea FC, the league, and law enforcement to curb ticket touting. The CST claims it has attempted to contact Boehly multiple times to raise concerns, but has received no response.
The letter argues that Boehly’s position within the club, combined with his business involvement in a site profiting from inflated ticket prices, raises serious ethical questions. The Football Supporters’ Association echoed CST’s stance, stating that a club owner should not be involved in such practices.
Neither Chelsea nor the Premier League has issued an official response at this time.
