A recent fan survey has revealed Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s all-time favourite player, José Mourinho as the best manager, and Romelu Lukaku as the most disappointing signing. Fans also reflected on the club’s greatest moments, including their 2012 Champions League triumph.
As Chelsea celebrates its 120th anniversary, fans voted on some of the most iconic and disappointing figures in the club’s history. Frank Lampard, the club’s all-time top scorer and a key figure in Chelsea’s golden era, was named the fans’ favourite player, narrowly beating Eden Hazard and Didier Drogba. José Mourinho, who won three Premier League titles across two spells, was overwhelmingly voted as the best manager with 62% of the votes.
On the less favourable side, Romelu Lukaku was chosen as the most disappointing signing, particularly due to his costly and underwhelming second stint at Stamford Bridge. André Villas-Boas, whose brief tenure saw him fail to manage Chelsea’s senior players, was voted the club’s most disappointing manager.
