Chelsea are looking to strengthen their midfield and have identified Brighton’s Carlos Baleba as a top target. The 21-year-old Cameroonian has impressed in the Premier League, with former Brighton striker Glenn Murray stating that Baleba has even greater potential than Moises Caicedo, whom Chelsea signed for £115m in 2023. According to Chelsea transfer expert Simon Phillips, the Blues enquired about Baleba’s availability, but Brighton quickly rejected their advances. Despite previous business between the two clubs—most notably the transfers of Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez, and Caicedo—Brighton are unwilling to part ways with their latest midfield star, at least in January.
